Looking for one East Texas business to buy and run
I was born and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi. I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit - I started charging my uncles a dollar to get them a drink on the beach when I was 8 or 9. After nearly 10 years as a consultant and investor, I decided to chase my dream of business ownership.
In my prior role at LongWater Opportunities , a firm that invested in family-owned manufacturers, I worked closely with entrepreneurs and business owners who were looking to retire or move into other ventures. I got to see firsthand the fun they had and the impact they had on employees and their community - and I wanted that for myself.
Before LongWater, I worked for McKinsey and Company, where I led teams to advise clients on strategic decisions and operational improvements.
I recently moved to Tyler with my wife Mattie (an East Texas native) and our three kids, and we are looking to put our roots down in East Texas.
Fort Hill Partners was formed with the single goal of acquiring one great East Texas business. After rewarding stints in consulting and private equity, I'm taking on a more entrepreneurial venture - finding a business to buy and run myself.
I am looking to buy a business with roughly $3-20 million in sales, primarily in the manufacturing and industrial spaces. Running the business I buy will be my sole professional focus. If you are thinking about retiring or have thought about selling your business and want to find a buyer to safeguard and build on your legacy, I am interested in connecting.
Even if you just want to know more about selling your business, feel free to call or email me using the info below. I always enjoy meeting new people and will maintain strict confidentiality.
Fort Hill was a key strategic defense for the Confederacy in the Siege of Vicksburg during the Civil War. The fort was so well-positioned it was never directly assaulted by the Union in the siege.
I grew up in Vicksburg and used to ride my bike in the battlefield park, so there are sentimental ties to the location (and it's incredible sunset views over the Mississippi River). But beyond the hometown connection, what Fort Hill represents to me in business is a strategic advantage over competitors that allows the business to thrive and grow. I'm looking for a business with its own Fort Hill.
